Stainless steel is a long-lasting material commonly used in kitchen products. In early 2025, we began using Outokumpu Circle Green® stainless steel in selected products.
According to Outokumpu, Circle Green® stainless steel can have up to a 93% lower carbon footprint compared to the global industry average for stainless steel production, depending on the product grade and specification. The calculation is based on product-specific environmental data provided by Outokumpu.
Stainless steel is a recyclable material, and stainless steel products can be recycled at the end of their service life where appropriate recycling systems are available. A long product lifetime may also reduce the need for replacement compared with shorter-lived alternatives.
The internationally awarded StalaTex™ technology uses laser processing to create patterns on the surface of stainless steel without coatings, chemicals or additional surface materials.
The result is a distinctive patterned surface designed to maintain its appearance over time. StalaTex™ is particularly well suited for kitchen applications, where stainless steel is valued for its durability and ease of maintenance.
Thanks to the versatility of the patterning technology, StalaTex™ can be used in a wide range of interior and architectural applications.
UPM Formi EcoAce is a wood fibre-based biocomposite containing renewable raw materials. According to UPM, the material is made from a biopolymer derived from UPM BioVerno™ naphtha together with wood or cellulose fibres.
We selected UPM Formi EcoAce for our ONE colander based on its material properties and appearance. The material combines a natural look with the design flexibility required for the product.
Richlite is a paper fibre-based composite material that contains FSC-certified paper. According to the manufacturer, the material is produced using recycled paper fibres as a key raw material.
Richlite is a durable composite material suitable for long-term use in a variety of applications.
Quartz composite is a very durable material, as it consists of 80% strong natural quartz. The translucent and timeless quartz composite is a beautiful and high-quality sink material.
PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating is an advanced coating method used in kitchen sinks, where a thin and durable layer of vaporized metal is deposited on the surface of the sink in a vacuum chamber process. This process improves the sink's durability, appearance and lifespan.
