Maintenance instructions for stainless steel surfaces

Stala's worktops and sinks are made of high-grade stainless steel. Stainless steel surfaces are durable, hygienic, and easy to clean. For a clean and beautiful surface, please follow the following instructions:

  1. After use, remove marks or stains from the sink or worktop with a soft towel, cloth or sponge. Clean the worktop with warm water and washing-up liquid. Rinse the worktop with clean water and dry it with a soft cloth.
  2. Salt, salt solutions, acids, bleaches, silver polish and wallpaper paste will leave marks on the steel surface after just a few hours. Immediately remove such substances from the work surface, and rinse and dry the work surface.
  3. Residue water can leave grey chalk marks when it has dried. Clean the work surface with washing-up liquid, and rinse and dry the work surface. Prevent discolouring by drying the work surface after use. Never leave wet cast-iron pans or pans made from other oxidising materials on the worktop for long periods of time, because they leave marks on the worktop.
  4. Scouring powder and steel wool scratch the sink or worktop. DO NOT USE SUCH PRODUCTS.
  5. Surface scratches that are caused by daily use do not deteriorate the sink or the worktop. The oxide coating on the surface protects the work surface and is formed under the influence of the oxygen that is present. A new coating is formed on scratches on the surface.
