Stala Oy is a Finnish company established in 1972. It manufactures stainless steel sink units and sink bowls for domestic kitchens, as well as waste sorting systems. The company's founder, Reino Rajamäki, bought the sink unit manufacture from Upo and set out to expand the business operations, joining in the intensive construction wave of the 1970s. From the beginning of the year 2000, his tasks as managing director were taken over by his daughter, Tuija Rajamäki.

Today, the sink unit has taken on a new scope of application: we have made it into an element of kitchen furnishing design. Our strong points include innovative, user-oriented design; building of creative marketing concepts; and a good dealer network. Design has featured among Stala's activities since the 1970s, and its importance as one cornerstone of the operations is reflected in the company's products and services all along the line.

Every home has a kitchen, with its water outlets and sink units. Nowadays, however, the requirements set for these are greater than before. The numbers of raw ingredients, preliminary preparations, and different kinds and sizes of containers have increased. Waste sorting and recycling forms a chapter of its own. We have made the sink unit into a functional work station which takes into account not only washing, but also preliminary preparation of food ingredients and trouble-free waste sorting.

The strength of Stala is based on custom-dimensioned products and rapid delivery times. In the Stala Seven sink unit family, the sink worktop size can be chosen to an accuracy of half a centimetre and there are seven alternative bowl combinations.

For demanding furnishing needs, we have brought Stala Kitchen worktops into the product family. The streamlined rectangular bowls of the Style Kitchen worktops represent minimalism at its best. Food preparation is a pleasure when all the possibilities of Combo Kitchen worktops are utilized. We have designed practical accessories for them to aid kitchen chores: chopping boards, a draining basket, and also ceramic trays and containers.

Stala has chosen a strategy of international growth. Our export areas include the Nordic countries, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, England and Russia. In the carefully selected target countries, we work together closely with our dealer clients in order to build up an established market position in each area.
